Internships Abroad
International experience in your teaching degree program can also be combined with internships and thereby include the interlinking of theory and practice which is essential in teacher education at FAU. “FAU Teacher Education International” takes into account the importance of practical and international experience in teacher education and therefore also supports you in carrying out internships abroad. There are various options available to you.
You can find opportunities for school internships as part of your teaching degree program with the help of the responsible internship office or you can organize it yourself. Ask the internship office responsible for you for advice on school internships abroad and recognition opportunities.
Various institutions offer programs and/or funding opportunities for internships abroad. Find information of different programs like
- SCHULWÄRTS! –The program arranges and funds internships at schools abroad supervised by the Goethe-Institut.
- Bayerischer Lehrer- und Lehrerinnen Verband (BLLV) – The association offers two different internship programs: “Learning Abroad” (mostly short-term internships) and “Schools – Partners of the Future” (in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut)
- Pädagogischer Austauschdienst (PAD) – The program arranges places for foreign language assistants abroad
- Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst (DAAD) – the DAAD awards scholarships for internships abroad
