European Teacher Education Network (ETEN)

The European Teacher Education Network (ETEN) was founded in 1988. Since 2018, ETEN is a nonprofit organization under Belgian law. The network serves as a platform for universities and other educational institutions with a focus on international teacher education in terms of cooperation, exchange, research and publication possibilities. Currently, there are about 60 member institutions from almost 20 European and non-European countries – among them Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg with ETEN Local Coordinator (ECO) Prof. Dr. Anatoli Rakhkochkine since 2016. ETEN organises an annual international conference with a different thematic focus in the field of teacher education, which also provides an opportunity for teacher educators to enhance their international profile. A visit of the yearly ETEN conference can be financially supported by “FAU Teacher Education International”.
The annual ETEN Conference 2023 took place at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
Annual ETEN Conference 2026 in Ismail Qemaliin/Albania at University of Vlora
