From April 13 to 15, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), as a member of the European Teacher Education Network (ETEN), hosted about 200 international experts in teacher education at the Regensburger Straße campus in Nuremberg. ETEN acts as a cooperation platform for universities and other educational institutions with a focus on the internationalisation of teacher education and organises a conference once a year. The great interest of the participants from 23 countries showed that FAU is perceived as a cosmopolitan and innovative location for teacher education.

According to the central theme “Teacher Education – Connecting Glocal”, the participants discussed potentials of the international dimension of teacher education for local networks. In thematic interest groups such as “Identity and Diversity,” “Science and Technology in the Digital Age,” “Internationalisation,” “Language Education,” and others, they presented contributions from (applied) pedagogical and subject didactic research and from the practice of teacher education within an international perspective. Selected contributions will also be made visible to the public through publications. True to the theme of the conference, the open World Café on Thursday morning (April 13) offered FAU lecturers as well as teachers and educators from the network “Internationalisation of Education in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region” the opportunity to meet international guests and to initiate cooperation and projects even without registering for the conference

The conference was organised by a team of the project “FAU Teacher Education International” in cooperation with the Center for Teacher Education (ZfL).Further information can be found at: https://etenjournal.com/2022/11/14/see-you-in-nurnberg/
